Johann Friedrich Naumann, the founder of Central European ornithology came from a tradition of birdwatching. As a child, he learned to draw birds from his father. Later, Johann Friedrich created an unprecedented, comprehensive ornithological work. Its beauty and authenticity make his watercolors appear fresh even today. And they also tolerate color.
