Did you know?

The 950-meter-long Heumarkt is located in the north of Cologne’s Old Town, close to the Rhine. It is situated between the Deutzer Bridge and the Alter Markt. As the name suggests, in the Middle Ages the main trading good was hay, which farmers sold there to people living in the cities. Today this square fits perfectly for enjoying the obligatory glass of Kölsch beer.
