Did you know?

The term Dachshund or Dackel is deeply rooted in Germany and plays an important role in dachshund history. It refers to a specific breed of dog that was originally bred for hunting badgers (Dachse), hence the name. It is also known in American English as a “Wiener” or “sausage dog”. Gebuadsdog is an attempt to mimic the Bavarian pronuciation of “Geburtstag” (a birthday).
