Did you know?

The name is quite clear: Aachener Straße leads “directly” to Aachen. This was already the case in Roman times, when it served as a long-distance trade route from Cologne via Aachen to Maastricht. In the Middle Ages it was also called the King’s Road, because the German kings made pilgrimages along the Aachen Road to the remains of the Three Kings in Cologne Cathedral.
