Did you know?
Nestled in the idyllic landscape in the eastern part of the Ellenbogen (Elbow) is the List-Ost lighthouse. The white tower with a red band was built in 1857 by the Isselburger Hütte steelworks from cast-iron plates on a concrete foundation. The red lantern house is a steel structure with a copper roof. Together with its twin tower, List-West, located 2,700 meters away, they are the oldest active lighthouses in Germany with a cast-iron tower.
